Eggs are actually healthy, especially the egg whites, since it contains the protein called albumin. Eating an egg a day can boost your metabolism, aside from providing your body with quality protein. However, make sure not to exceed two eggs in a day, since the yolk is actually filled up with a lot of extra calories that you may not need.

Again, this is one of those topics that the media flip flops back and forth on. Some times eggs are good for us, sometimes not. I like eggs and I am going to continue to eat them. I don't eat as many as I used to eat, but I am not training as hard either so, again, moderation!

Don't Cheat Your Body At Breakfast!!





22. Eat a large breakfast.
 
Breakfast is actually the most important meal of the day. This is because it is where your body would usually source out its energy for the day. Thus, it is best to fill up yourself at breakfast, so that you can boost your body’s energy levels. Aside from that, it can also help you in controlling your food portions come lunch and dinner times. 

Let me modify that to say a large HEALTHY breakfast! It seems that the marketing masters of the fast food world have discovered that we like to eat breakfast though out the day! Do the right thing and limit the amount of damage you do to your body!

There are lots of people today who skip their meals, especially breakfast for thinking that it can help them achieve weight loss. Skipping meals can actually result to more weight gain, since it can slow down your body’s metabolism. Aside from that, it can make you feel too hungry when it is meal time, which can result to binge eating.

Skipping meals is just not a good idea. You are cheating your body out of way too much in terms of fuel for the day! Eat every meal, but make sure that the fuel you are providing your body will meet the demand of your day. But I Do Love Fried Food!

Hope your week is going well. Today we are posting Fitnes Tip #20. Yes, this is a biggie for me! I have a hard time shying away from the fried and fast food. I am such a sucker for a great fried burger and fries! But I am workinig on it!!


20. Stay away from foods that have been fried.
 
Fried foods are called as such, since they are cooked either in fat or oil. Thus, the more amounts of fried foods you consume, the more oil your body would absorb. Keep in mind that even when the external oil has already been drained, there are still lots of it that remain in the food itself

19. Drinking coffee

Some people think that drinking coffee is a bad idea, especially when a person is trying to lose weight. On the contrary, drinking hot coffee at breakfast is actually a good idea, since it can help in boosting your energy levels. Just don’t drink coffee shakes in coffee shops too often though, since they are filled with lots of calories that can make you gain weight.

The mass media outlets continue to muddy the waters as to actual benefits/harm of coffee. (Everything in moderation!) Personally I like to drink a cup of coffee about 20 minutes before I workout or teach a class. The energy really helps!

When you snack between meals, it is wise if you also become conscious not just on your food portions, but also on the types of foods you eat. 

The best types of foods for your snacks would be fruits and vegetables. Munching on carrots or an apple would not just help in maintaining your health, but it would also control your appetite for the coming meal.

If you feel the need to open up your refrigerator and grab something to eat, you should think first, whether it is time for your snack or not. If it is not, try to drink a glass of water first, since there are times when your body would mistaken thirst as hunger. If you really need to grab a snack though, make sure that it is something healthy.

Summer May In Fact Not Be A Myth!


It looks like we may have survived another long and cold winter! So you know what that means......

That MEANS..........


Abs are a huge deal! Not just because summer is approaching, but as we continue to address the obesity issue, belly fat has be come the new smoking! The root of all that is evil!!

Have you noticed this lately? I was just watching a film entitled "The Covenant" with my wife, and couldn't help but notice the physiques. One character in this movie had ridiculous abdominal muscles. I'm talking ripped to shreds here. I couldn't help but laugh since no athlete I saw in high school had abs like this. Sure high school kids work out, but this guy looked like he was training for a fitness magazine. Oh, and not to mention that he looked about 25 years old. He must have invested in some major abdominal exercise machines. It's either that or some really cool genetics. 

You can take your pick from an abundance of abdominal exercise machines on the fitness market today. Who doesn't have a bright idea for some new and improved ab invention? It's kind of funny because I was just reading a piece on abdominal muscles last weekend. Personally I like to switch-up my workout regimes just to keep my muscles guessing. This typically promotes more growth. Anyway, the article said nothing promoting abdominal exercise machines. In fact, it didn't mention them at all. It named the three most effective abdominal exercises, which are all performed without the contemporary abdominal exercise machines. The first one was the bicycle motion. This is performed while lying on your back. You pretend like you're pedaling a bicycle and bring your elbows to your knees. The second ab exercise is crunches. These are highly recommended since they put very little stress on your back. And the third was also crunches, but crunches done with the aid of a chair to prop your legs on. I tried these and it's a great one. I found that it really started burning quickly. I love that! 

In short, before you run out and purchase the latest abdominal exercise machines, I suggest that you do a little reading online first. This will help you better understand how the abs are properly worked and exhausted. The last thing you want is to adopt an ab exercise that damages your back over time. Furthermore, the recommended exercise routines are free; unlike modern-day abdominal exercise machines. You do the math.  I do however suggest that you try a few different exercises so that you can determine which one offers the best results. 

Here is a quick video about a unique abdominal exercise machine that you might be interested in! This may be one that you can actually have the loved ones use enough to make a difference due to its "horse riding" motion!
